What is Bio-Retention Soil?
Stormwater runoff is an environmental issue in every state and bio-retention soil is a stormwater management technique that filters storm water runoff before releasing it into storm drain systems.
Bio-retention utilizes soils and plants to remove pollutants from storm water runoff. The soil mix used for bioretention systems is central for determining flow control and water quality treatment performance. To perform properly, the soil must provide the desired filtration, support vegetation, and provide water quality treatment.
