Wood Procurement Specialist
Location: Maryland / Delaware
The person in this position would specialize in working with private landowners to secure an adequate supply of timber for local Eastern Shore Forest Products mills. The need for this person is defined by, first, the continual need for timber that can be logged during wet times, and, second, by the fact that within 45 miles of Salisbury there are 145,000 acres of 21-60 year-old pine stands on private lands.
The position is “hands on” and requires an individual who likes and relates well to forest landowners and colleagues in the forestry community. Ideally, this person would be a graduate forester, a Maryland license requirement. However, a forest technician could do the work adequately if he or she has access to a licensed forester for project approvals.
Required training would include dendrology, silviculture, forest measurements, familiarity with various regulations and public forestry programs, logging, GIS, Microsoft Office competency, property surveys and wildlife management. Skills would include strong communications abilities, “people” skills, self-motivation and the capacity for hard work under occasionally challenging conditions.
The position calls for someone who can strike a balance between objectively advising and assisting forest landowners achieve their goals while clearly representing ESFP and seeking to acquire timber for the company’s operations. This is a position that will aggressively seek out timber from private lands. Success would be measured by timber acquired, with a tangible contribution toward the company’s need for over 200,000 tons of wood each year. Specifically, the person in this position would be responsible for:
- Identify key landowners (i.e., larger ownerships, drier ground not currently represented by consulting foresters)
- Initiate and maintain contact with key landowners to help assess their needs and goals and identify ways in which timber harvests might help achieve them
- Establish strong working relationships with consulting foresters, state foresters, extension specialists and USDA “farm” agencies
- Maintain a consistent communications effort directed toward private forest landowners and forestry professionals, including exploring ways for joint educational efforts with Maryland Forests Association
- Work closely with support staff to maintain records of initial contacts with landowners, results and any needed follow-up actions
- Assist, as needed with cruising, boundary marking and other fieldwork plus logging administration
- Regular communications with ESFP managers to report progress and assure coordination with other functions of the company

Forestry Heavy Equipment Operator

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy machinery (knuckleboom, feller buncher, etc.)
- Perform multiple inspections throughout day on equipment to check and maintain proper fluid levels, performance of the equipment, etc. using the company checklist as a guideline

Electrical Supervisor

The primary role of the Electrical Supervisor is to perform electrical and mechanical work to include preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, troubleshooting and diagnostics, adjustments, and emergency breakdowns. Logistics & Inventory Control Manager
Location: Pocomoke, MD (Animal Comfort Group Facility)
This position is responsible for managing all Shipping, Receiving and Inventory functions at the Animal Comfort facility in Pocomoke, MD. Proper loading of customer orders, unloading of material deliveries, and proper ownership of finished goods inventory when released from production are key areas of focus. In addition, proper management of team to prevent any safety incidents, equipment or inventory damages, and a focus on cleanliness and fire prevention are required.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all customer orders from Sales, scheduled & unscheduled deliveries for Shipping as well as facilitate dock traffic with scale house and drivers for effective processing of outbound freight
- Provide proper paperwork to drivers as well as internal administration for shipments verifying that shipping documents are all accurate and match to the truck being loaded
- Lead team of truck loaders to ensure all proper safety protocols are followed (i.e. forklift inspections daily, chocks on trailers before entering, seat belts are worn while operating equipment, PPE, etc.) and equipment is properly maintained
- Manage shipping/loading to ensure inventory levels match customer requirements and finished goods are properly staged and loaded on customer trucks
- Ensure all inventory is staged and is in ‘sellable’ condition once released from production. If inventory is damaged, ensure product is appropriately reworked and returned to inventory
- Manage inventory counts as required
- Ensure dock areas are maintained and materials are organized daily for a clean, safe work environment
- Work with Plant Management to plan for inventory movement as needed to support customer demand

The Maintenance Parts Coordinator makes a direct contribution to important maintenance goals of increasing labor productivity, reducing maintenance costs, improving equipment reliability and plant production. This is accomplished by the researching, ordering, expediting and coordinating distribution of parts and materials.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with the Maintenance Team and Plant Manager to maintain inventory control and stocking levels to meet the demands of both the predictive/preventative and planned maintenance programs.
- Will be responsible for identifying, locating, monitoring, tracking, ordering and maintaining a minimum level stock of spare parts, research pricing, report pricing back to Plant Manager, manage backorders, and maintain vendor relations, including ensuring invoices, shipments and other billing issues are taken care of promptly.
