Scalehouse Attendant

Location: Pocomoke City, Maryland

The primary function of this role is to provide top notch customer service to all truckers, customers, etc. coming and going from our site. Truckers are the backbone of America, and as a known “Shipper of Choice” we want to ensure they are treated as such.

Essential Duties:

Scaling in trucks
Overseeing trucks are loaded appropriately and on time
Promote positive interactions between our team and drivers

Wood Procurement Specialist

Location: Maryland / Delaware

The person in this position would specialize in working with private landowners to secure an adequate supply of timber for local Eastern Shore Forest Products mills. The need for this person is defined by, first, the continual need for timber that can be logged during wet times, and, second, by the fact that within 45 miles of Salisbury there are 145,000 acres of 21-60 year-old pine stands on private lands.

The position is “hands on” and requires an individual who likes and relates well to forest landowners and colleagues in the forestry community. Ideally, this person would be a graduate forester, a Maryland license requirement. However, a forest technician could do the work adequately if he or she has access to a licensed forester for project approvals.

Required training would include dendrology, silviculture, forest measurements, familiarity with various regulations and public forestry programs, logging, GIS, Microsoft Office competency, property surveys and wildlife management. Skills would include strong communications abilities, “people” skills, self-motivation and the capacity for hard work under occasionally challenging conditions.

The position calls for someone who can strike a balance between objectively advising and assisting forest landowners achieve their goals while clearly representing ESFP and seeking to acquire timber for the company’s operations. This is a position that will aggressively seek out timber from private lands. Success would be measured by timber acquired, with a tangible contribution toward the company’s need for over 200,000 tons of wood each year. Specifically, the person in this position would be responsible for:

Identify key landowners (i.e., larger ownerships, drier ground not currently represented by consulting foresters)
Initiate and maintain contact with key landowners to help assess their needs and goals and identify ways in which timber harvests might help achieve them
Establish strong working relationships with consulting foresters, state foresters, extension specialists and USDA “farm” agencies
Maintain a consistent communications effort directed toward private forest landowners and forestry professionals, including exploring ways for joint educational efforts with Maryland Forests Association
Work closely with support staff to maintain records of initial contacts with landowners, results and any needed follow-up actions
Assist, as needed with cruising, boundary marking and other fieldwork plus logging administration
Regular communications with ESFP managers to report progress and assure coordination with other functions of the company
Represent ESFP in local organizations that include forest landowners

Forestry Heavy Equipment Operator

Location: Maryland/Delaware

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate heavy machinery (knuckleboom, feller buncher, etc.)
Perform multiple inspections throughout day on equipment to check and maintain proper fluid levels, performance of the equipment, etc. using the company checklist as a guideline
Reports equipment needs and hazards to supervisor
Continuous safety check on the equipment (seat belt, fire extinguisher, lights, etc.) to ensure equipment is working properly and safely
Survey, evaluate and take measures to ensure work area is safe from any dangers (powerlines, utilities, co-workers, etc.)
Inspect all attachments to the machinery to ensure that they are operational and take the appropriate steps to correct
Follows company work order instructions
Ensures that job site is left in safe condition
Maintains good housekeeping on equipment
Perform or assist in regular maintenance (oil changes, hoses, etc.)
Work as a team to complete a job/task
Keep in constant communication with team members and supervisor

Requirements:

2-5 years experience working with heavy equipment

Electrical Supervisor

Location: Salisbury, MD / Pocomoke City, MD

Recent and planned expansions have created a need for an electrical supervisor for our Maryland locations. This position offers advancement opportunities as a successful candidate becomes more familiar with our systems and proves their abilities.

The primary role of the Electrical Supervisor is to perform electrical and mechanical work to include preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, troubleshooting and diagnostics, adjustments, and emergency breakdowns. This includes installing, maintaining, documenting and repair of PLC and control systems as well as fabricating conduit and rebuilding electrical equipment. The position has primary responsibility of oversight of both contractors and plant personnel.

Essential Duties:
• Manage electrical, control and instrumentation systems at our plants to improve efficiencies, safety and ultimately reduce cost.
• Chief trouble shooter
• Disseminate technical knowledge to hourly staff and contractors to enhance the technical and troubleshooting skills of the personnel

• Lead safety-related inspections and training to enhance and promote the safety culture.
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems to minimize downtime due to equipment failure.
• Oversee programming of in-house robotics and automated production and packaging machinery.
• Oversee a variety of electrical construction and improvement projects.
• Verify equipment requiring calibration is currently calibrated; ensure production trouble calls are answered in a timely manner, problems are corrected, and equipment downtime minimized.
• Schedule and oversee on call electricians for a 24/7 operation

Required Skills and Experience:
• Five plus years’ experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Broad maintenance experience in an industrial environment
• Prior proven experience as a supervisor and leader

Plant Electrician

The primary role of the Plant Electrician is to perform electrical and mechanical work to include preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, troubleshooting and diagnostics, adjustments, and emergency breakdowns. This includes installing, maintaining, documenting and repair of PLC and control systems as well as fabricating conduit and rebuilding electrical equipment. This position must be able to work a flexible schedule to support 24-hour production operations and reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Essential Duties:
• Trouble shoot and repair electrical/mechanical breakdowns
• Responds to emergency breakdowns when on call to ensure operations continues on a 24 hour day basis.
• Performs all equipment repairs and daily work within OSHA regulations lockout-tagout and company safety/procedure guidelines.
• Reads, interprets, and understands manufacturer equipment manuals and electronic and electrical schematic diagrams.
• Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; recommend replacement when necessary.

• Perform electrical equipment diagnostics and troubleshooting on all process equipment and make repairs.

• Perform preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment.

• Install or modify electrical equipment including basic design of circuitry.

• Troubleshoot PLC equipment including capability to perform basic programming modification.
• Perform all work within the safety guidelines established by local state, and federal agencies as well as company policies.

Requirements of a Plant Electrician:
• 3+ years of electrical experience with 3 phase electrical systems

• Valid State Drivers License

• Strong math, analytical and communication skills

• Strong knowledge of standard computer software and Industrial controls / Electronics / Instrumentation
• Knowledgeable on and follows National Electrical Code (NEC).

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:

Logistics & Inventory Control Manager

Location: Pocomoke, MD (Animal Comfort Group Facility)

This position is responsible for managing all Shipping, Receiving and Inventory functions at the Animal Comfort facility in Pocomoke, MD. Proper loading of customer orders, unloading of material deliveries, and proper ownership of finished goods inventory when released from production are key areas of focus. In addition, proper management of team to prevent any safety incidents, equipment or inventory damages, and a focus on cleanliness and fire prevention are required.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate all customer orders from Sales, scheduled & unscheduled deliveries for Shipping as well as facilitate dock traffic with scale house and drivers for effective processing of outbound freight
Provide proper paperwork to drivers as well as internal administration for shipments verifying that shipping documents are all accurate and match to the truck being loaded
Lead team of truck loaders to ensure all proper safety protocols are followed (i.e. forklift inspections daily, chocks on trailers before entering, seat belts are worn while operating equipment, PPE, etc.) and equipment is properly maintained
Manage shipping/loading to ensure inventory levels match customer requirements and finished goods are properly staged and loaded on customer trucks
Ensure all inventory is staged and is in ‘sellable’ condition once released from production. If inventory is damaged, ensure product is appropriately reworked and returned to inventory
Manage inventory counts as required
Ensure dock areas are maintained and materials are organized daily for a clean, safe work environment
Work with Plant Management to plan for inventory movement as needed to support customer demand
Work with production to determine product type produced and near-term production projections based on current inventory levels and customer sales projections
Unload incoming materials upon arrival, verify quantity on packing slip matches actual material received. Maintain materials in an organized way as determined by management and as appropriate for the material arriving
Maintain propane tank inventory in a safe manner and ensure tanks remain full for forklift driver use in a 24/7 operation
Track employee sick, vacation & leave time, and report attendance incentives
Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations as applies to position/team
Set and track weekly goals
Perform other functions as deemed necessary by management in relation to logistics and inventory management

Requirements:

Parts Coordinator

Location: Pocomoke, MD

The Maintenance Parts Coordinator makes a direct contribution to important maintenance goals of increasing labor productivity, reducing maintenance costs, improving equipment reliability and plant production. This is accomplished by the researching, ordering, expediting and coordinating distribution of parts and materials.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Work with the Maintenance Team and Plant Manager to maintain inventory control and stocking levels to meet the demands of both the predictive/preventative and planned maintenance programs.
Will be responsible for identifying, locating, monitoring, tracking, ordering and maintaining a minimum level stock of spare parts, research pricing, report pricing back to Plant Manager, manage backorders, and maintain vendor relations, including ensuring invoices, shipments and other billing issues are taken care of promptly.
Develop highly organized parts room, daily monitoring and total ownership of Parts Storage Areas.
Must display a positive attitude toward work, be a team player, have the ability to juggle competing priorities.
Determine necessary parts and/or components needed to complete tasks identified from backlog and work requests.
Review scheduled work and verify parts availability.
Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.

Groundskeeper

Location: Maryland/Delaware

Responsibilities:

Follow all safety guidelines for the operation of equipment and chemicals
Daily lawn care to include watering, weeding raking and blowing leaves
Water, seed, mow, plant and till the lawn, shrubbery and pots as needed
Perform snow removal with shovel and other equipment, as needed
Regular custodial work such as debris on walkways and disposing of it in the
proper containers
Perform preventative maintenance on indoor and outdoor facilities

Available to work between 6 am to 5 pm with reliable transportation

Plant Supervisor

Daily Tasks:
